This summer, IFOAM Organics Europe welcomes the adoption of the Nature Restoration Law by Members of the European Parliament. This positive vote on nature restoration gives hope that Europeans can collectively make agriculture better for nature.

On 5 July, the European Commission published its proposal concerning a Soil Monitoring and Resilience law. IFOAM Organics Europe welcomes the legal recognition of the importance of soils as well as giving soil the same status as air and water, which are already well regulated in the EU.

Over the past 3.5 years the BIOFRUITNET project has collected and synthesized existing practical and scientific knowledge on organic fruit-growing, distributing it widely among the EU countries through easy formats like e-learning courses, podcasts, videos and short articles.

Citizen-driven transformation of EU food systems is the title of FoodSHIFT2030’s final policy conference. As IFOAM Organics Europe, we host this event and organise it together with TP Organics as part of their annual Organic Innovation Days. After eleven beautiful and exciting years, Regulation Manager Emanuele Busacca has left IFOAM Organics Europe for new adventures.

After more than eleven years, Bram Moeskops, Research & Innovation Manager at IFOAM Organics Europe has left us to become the new Director of FiBL Europe.

After three years at IFOAM Organics Europe as Office Coordinator, our colleague Julie Goeseels left the organization to pursue new challenges.

Two of our ESC volunteers, Erica Conversano and Mar Segarra Valenzuela have left the organisation. We wish them all the best!

Stefano Orsini is the new Research & Innovation Manager at IFOAM Organics Europe, and he’s looking forward to contributing to making European agriculture more sustainable and organic through research. 

Maria Zintl is excited to start with IFOAM Organics Europe. She will be working mainly in the field of inputs, and supporting in organic textiles, and regulations.

Alba Saez Fernandez is our new R&I project coordinator. Besides having experience as a microbiologist and laboratory engineer, they have a MSc in Agroecology, over 3 years of experience as a project coordinator

Clara Garrone is an agronomic engineer specialised in rural development and sustainable food systems. She will take care of the business development of the company, ensuring sponsorships and partnerships.

Gustavo Ribeiro Gonçalves is a Brazilian accountant. He will be working as Finance and Office Administration Assistant.

Nidhi Kaveri is a master’s student in Agricultural Economics at the University of Hohenheim, Germany and She is part of the Projects & Partnership team as ESC volunteer

On 29 September, 9:00-13:00 the event "Market and policy developments of the organic seed sector in Poland” the conference will bring together policymakers and experts from Polish and European organisations, seed companies, and organic producer associations to discuss on the current state and framework on organic seed and plant breeding.

During its annual European Days of Action, a group of NGOs calls on everyone to organize an event in your city, town or village between 1-31 October. It can be small or big, bringing together citizens, farmers, food producers and many more. These action days are a unique opportunity to both call attention to your cause locally and be part of a broad European movement!

IFOAM Organics Europe is glad to represent the European perspective at NATEXPO for another year. NATEXPO is the leading international trade show for organic products, taking place on 22-24 October in Paris, France.

The ‘industry festival’ for organic and sustainable food and drink is back in Malmö, Sweden. With the very best choice of products, talks, inspiration and insight for the organic foodservice and retail industry, the Nordic Organic Food Fair returns to MalmöMässan on 15-16 November 2023.

We're excited to announce that our annual IFOAM Organics Europe Meets Business event will to take place on 30 November at L42 Business Centre & Workspaces, Brussels, Belgium. This event is the go-to place for the organic sector where organic pioneers exchange with those (relatively) new to organic and those interested in organic.

On 25-26 October the annual Organic Innovation Days 2023 are taking place in Brussels themed ‘Citizen-driven transformation of European food systems’.

Organic Innovations Days are TP Organics’ flagship event. This year, TP Organics is partnering with FoodSHIFT2030, a Horizon 2020 project focused on transforming the European food system in which IFOAM Organics Europe is a partner.
